2006 Sunflower Contest

The club supplied sunflower seeds to children at the St. John's on the Mountain preschool in Bernardsville for a contest for the largest sunflower. Denise Hawkins, a club member, teaches there and promotes and supports the contest. The winner was four year old Eliza Walters for a 5 inch sunflower. Click Here for a note from Eliza's Mother. Club members judging the flowers were Fred Swan and Mitch Greenbaum.

Freedom Trail Bench

The club donated a bench to the Freedom Trail of Great Americans as part of the National Garden Clubs nationwide project. The trail will be located at the Rutgers Garden. Our bench will honor John Basilone. The "tea in the garden" ceremony for the Trail was held on June 15, 2006.
